166 million homes in Europe include at least one pet

In Europe there are around 129 million cats, 106 million dogs, 52 million birds, 30 million small mammals, 23 million aquaria and 12 million terraria

A recent survey found that 97% of doctors say there are health benefits to owning a pet.
